Purim is one of the most joyous and fun holidays on the Jewish calendar. It commemorates a time when the Jewish people living in Persia were saved from extermination. The festival of Purim is celebrated every year on the 14th of the Hebrew month of Adar (late winter/early spring). It commemorates the salvation of the Jewish people in ancient Persia from Haman’s plot “to destroy, kill and annihilate all the Jews, young and old, infants and women, in a single day.”
At CBE we celebrate Purim with a communal adult reading on the holiday followed by a giant costume party for adults. In addition to Megillah readings for tots and younger children, CBE hosts a huge Purim carnival filled with games, bouncy houses, music and much more.
