Planning for the Future
In the year 2011-2012, Congregation Beth Elohim has been undertaking a strategic planning process which will guide our planning for the foreseeable future.
A Task Force consisting of staff and congregants has been meeting intensively. We have conducted focus groups, individual interviews and congregational meetings to get input from the congregation, the staff and the Board of Trustees. Even as the leadership focuses on our short-term needs, fixing our roof, raising money, and making our operation run more smoothly, we are developing a long-range vision for the future. Hopefully this will fuel the growth of the synagogue and add to the satisfaction of our members. Eventually we will convene the Board for an extended decision-making session, and the final report will have to be approved by the Board.
The Strategic Planning Task Force is chaired by Board Secretary Michael Ravitch. Other members of the committee include Amy Bender, Adam Mansky, Eric Boorstyn, Doris Traub, Michelle Lynn Sachs, Donna Kolar Rosenthal, Simon Raykher and Lisa Miller. Also participating in the group are Rabbi Bachman, Interim Executive Director Monika Hamburger, Board President Charles Nathan and our Bronfman Fellow Lauren Shenkman.
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to any member of the Task Force, or Lauren Shenkman at lshenkman@cbebk.org or 768-3814, ext. 242.
